Psycho woman of his dreams. (Nova)

Kyle Evans
Alcohol induced dreams were usually quite vibrant and fun. Usually involving large animals or cotton candy. He was quite fond of them. But Eternity dreams were a bit more...psychotic.

Kyle was standing in the cold rain and it was, of course, night time. He shivered violently from the cold as he stood on a deserted street lit only by one street lamp. There was a brick building in front of him with a neon sign that spelled Hotel but the O and the T lights were broken.

H e l.

'Oh joy,'
Kyle muttered with his arms crossed.

Across the street was a pawn shop with gold lettering on the window. The lights were off. He turned back to the brick building and noticed the white door with the black scuff marks. Kyle stepped onto the stoop and pushed open the door and it swung loudly shut behind him.

He was suddenly in a broken down hotel room. Kyle turned around again and opened the door. Peeking out was a dimly lit hallway. On one end was a door poorly marked 'STAIRS'. The other end had a window and it was still raining outside. Kyle could not recall entering the lobby, checking in or coming up the stairs.

The room was very art deco circa 1920 style. An ornate lamp hung on the wall. Its glass shell was frosted yellow by age and broken on one end. There was a bed with a knit blanket and a single pillow. The walls were wall papered and again more filagree design, yellowed with age. A desk, one rickety chair, a bathroom with a glimpse of a single light bulb in its shadows. Kyle walked over and reached for light switch on the wall which was cold and damp, as if someone had just taken a shower in it. He flicked on the light and it was harsh and bright.

Kyle stepped back out into the room and sighed. He looked down at his clothes, they were partially dry but still damp and annoying.

'Well...this is...interesting.'
Nova
Nova gave a single knock on Kyle’s door before opening it and stepping inside, on the off chance he wasn’t sleeping like a rock. Not bloody likely, considering the sedatives, but people took to such things differently.

Yep, sleeping like a rock. That fact confirmed, Nova decided to roll out, since she’d done what she came here to do.

Why she was stepping closer she had no idea. And if anyone found out she had adjusted the blanket to cover him to his stubbly chin, she’d have to claim insanity.

Casting what she told herself was her final look at Evans, she paused in her motion to turn around and walk away. His eyes were flickering behind their lids.

He was dreaming.

Some people might have conscience issues with wandering around in people’s dreams. Fortunately, Nova was not plagued with such nonsense, and didn’t even really debate her next move. She sat down on the floor by Kyle’s bed, wrapped one hand around his wrist, and closed her eyes, concentrating on what she knew of Evans.

She was in the hallway again, looking for the right door. Again, some were locked, some were open with lights on, tempting her, but she passed those by, knowing none of them were Kyle’s. She walked for quite a while, it seemed, all the while thinking of Evans, trying to find the link to him, and when she found the door at last she was too relieved to wonder why it had come into her line of sight just when she had been thinking, not of one of his many….many yelling fits, but of the two of them talking on the bed while they waited for food.

She opened the door carefully, not knowing what to expect and with no other clear plan in her mind than checking out the lay of the land and possibly finding some element of his subconscious that might be useful in fighting his addiction.

She looked around the hotel room she found herself in, hoping to god he wasn’t having a sleazy sex dream of some kind, and was quite relieved to find him alone. Shrugging, she sat down on the bed, which changed to a much more comfortable four poster with piles of pillows. She was, once again, not the least bit troubled by the idea of walking into someone else’s dream like she owned it.

‘Some dream you’ve got here.’

She looked around, crinkling her nose.
Kyle Evans
Kyle stood in the bathroom, shrugging off his wet jacket and unbuttoning his shirt. He looked at himself in the dirty mirror and was startled to see his face. The harsh lighting did nothing for his complexion, which was sallow and pale. He ran his hands through his wet hair and then shook the moisture off as he turned to hang his jacket on a wire hanger he found in the small hole in the wall that was suppose to be a closet. He hooked the wire hanger on the shower rod so it could dry. He stripped off his wet shirt and did the same thing with another wire hanger.

'No...wire...hangers!' Kyle muttered to himself.

His shoes squished and his feet were cold. Walking out with his head down, undoing his belt buckle, he heard her.

‘Some dream you’ve got here.’

His head jerked up and realized who it was.

'How?' Kyle pointed at Nova, who was sitting on his bed...well a new fancy girl type bed...in his dream. 'Is this a vampire thing or is this a side effect of the drug because I do not remembering ordering you but a rare steak and a blonde. You...are neither.'

His eyes narrowed. 'And why is it I seem to be half naked around you?' Kyle walked back in and grabbed the shirt off the wire hanger, putting it back on but not buttoning it. His shoes squished but he decided to keep them on.
Nova
Nova looked innocently at Kyle, which wasn’t an expression she pulled off very well. In fact, she was just plain smirking, but she tried to do so with a great deal of charm.

‘It’s –your- dream, Evans. How would I know why you’re giving me a strip tease in your dream?’

Snickering a little, she switched his shirt to the bright orange one she had brought him earlier, wondering when he would notice.

‘I’m just paying a little visit. We ‘unnatural beings’ can do that. Some of us, anyway.’

She flicked back her hair, turning it to a pale blonde with the gesture. There was a good chance she looked really stupid but it didn’t much bother her and she found it amusing.

‘But this dream kind of sucks. I think we can do better.’

With that, she jumped off the bed, landing ankle deep in cool sand. Fortunately she was wearing flip flops, and swapped out Kyle’s shoes with the same. Then she checked to see what else she was wearing; for some reason dreamwalking tended to make her paranoid about forgetting pants or something. Satisfied at the sight of khakis and a yellow smiley faced tee shirt, she looked up at Kyle, wondering if he saw the same thing. It was a little easier to control that sort of thing with humans but dreams were a funny business and sometimes really weird things happened. So far, though, he saw her as she was, or at least she assumed as much, but it took concentration to keep up an image and sometimes she got a little lax. At least that explained how the desert kept cropping up; it was the easiest thing for her to portray.

Shrugging, she walked to the door and opened it. Outside, parked on a sand dune that would turn to asphalt when they were ready, was her car.

‘Let’s take a drive.’

She made a ‘get a move on’ gesture, urging him out the door.

‘C’mon. I have an idea.’

Nova had no clue if this theory would work, but she had seen it in an Adam Sandler movie and it worked there, so she figured it was worth a shot.
Kyle Evans
Before his eyes, Nova transformed the room, apparently more suited to her taste. He rolled his eyes when suddenly his shoulders and armpits felt tight. Kyle looked down and sighed.

'Nova...' he lost his ability to speak when he noticed all the bright orange. The snug college shirt was on him again, but at least it was dry. Still, he held up his hands in a mock choking motion. 'You're over bearing even in my dreams?'

Kyle noticed her blonde hair and made a face. He didn't like that color on her. Suddenly her hair returned to its natural shade. He pointed, 'Your hair...'. The realization was hitting him now. If it was Nova in his dream and not the Eternity, and she was actually changing it by will alone...then why couldn't he?

Suddenly Nova's hair was out of its ponytail. It was longer than he realized and quite appealing. 'I don't like that outfit though.' As Nova walked towards the car she made appear, her outfit changed from her normal fare to a short sun dress with thin straps.

She did have nice legs.

Tilting his head, he figured he'd make it something more appealing to her. He changed it to khaki brown and as an afterthought, added small, quarter sized, yellow smiley faces all over it.

'Yes, this is much better.' Looking down at himself, he changed his wet slacks into dry jeans and made the orange shirt a little larger in the shoulders. 'Ok, let's go.' He ran around to the other side of the car and jumped in with a grin.

'Oh,' he said, 'one more thing.' Nova had conjured up a cool desert night, which in all actuality, was very nice, however he preferred a little sun. While now situated in the passenger car seat, Kyle concentrated as he stared out the window towards the horizon. Slowly, but surely, the sky turned a purplish red and the sun started its slow arc into the sky.

'A little dream sunshine won't hurt ya, right?' He looked over at Nova and his mouth slowly dropped open. The sun's rays made her skin look like bronze, its radiance twinkling in the sun. 'Guess not...' he said.
Nova
Nova snorted at Kyle’s comment that she was overbearing, thinking that the description of her personality was actually almost kind. She rolled her eyes at Kyle’s complaints regarding her outfit, thinking that if he really didn’t like it he would see something different.

She waited until Kyle got in and then opened the driver’s side door to step in. As she did, though, she noticed she was showing a hell of a lot more leg than she was revealing earlier.

‘What the…gah!’

That was what she got for not paying attention and underestimating the reporter, she supposed. Little shit was better at this sort of thing than she realized. She changed the dress to a pair of Bermuda shorts with the same pattern and a matching tank top and settled into the car.

‘Expect me to drive in a dress…’

She started up the firebird, taking a second to enjoy that wonderful sound, but at that moment she noticed the sky begin to change color.

‘Damn...I’m a have to come around here more often.’

She always wondered, when she remembered the sun, if the years had not chipped away at her recollection in much the same way as a long separation could result in forgetting exactly what a person looked like. She wasn’t sure, as she watched the sun rise, if her memories were distorted; once she saw the sun it was impossible to imagine it any other way.

She rolled down her window and stuck her hand out, feeling the slight heat on her skin, then reached back in and flipped down the sun visor, pulling out a pair of round shades with purple lenses. She looked over to Kyle, then reached across the seat and flipped down his visor as well, revealing a pair of sporty wrap arounds.

‘Alright, let’s go.’

A road stretched out in front of them, disappearing into a glittery horizon that might have been a distant city or a mirage. She put the firebird into gear and hit the gas, launching onto the road and picking up speed. Her hair whipped around her, but she was enjoying her car too much to care about that beyond noticing that it was now loose.

‘So…what we want to do is, er…’ Well now that she was about to say it out loud it kind of sounded stupid. ‘…find a place without all the bullshit associated with it. Like…um…have you ever seen Happy Gilmore?’
Kyle Evans
Kyle closed his eyes. 'My god you're cornball too.' Nova was of course referring to his 'Happy Place'. He muttered. 'Yes, Nova. I have seen Happy Gilmore. Yes, I had a happy place. I fondly referred to it as a fifth of Jack.'

Kyle looked over at her, annoyed now by her state of dress. He squinted, concentrating on her tank top. He made it a thin halter top, again with thin straps. He liked that. Moving onto her bermuda shorts, he inwardly bleched and shortened them to a rather sexy length. He could see the swell of her breast and he smiled.

'Now that's a happy place.'
Nova
Nova kicked up the speed, shifting gears fluidly, and grinned as the sand on either side of the road fell away.

‘So I’m a cornball.’ She shrugged. ‘Nevertheless, we are going to find your happy place. And it’s not going to be in a fifth of JD.’

The sun was blazing in the sky now, the dry heat bringing the inside of the car to a comfortable bake.

‘-God- I love this car.’

She looked over, grinning, in time to see Kyle’s matching grin and catch his comment.

‘See? We’re on to something…hey!’

Scowling as she observed the shift in her clothing, she turned back to watch the road, though she decided she was bored of the sleeping beauty style clothing changes. It had nothing to do with finding she mildly enjoyed that appreciative glance.

‘Ought to put you in a speedo or something. See how –you- like running around in next to nothing.’

She didn’t, however, make good on her threat. For the moment.
Kyle Evans
Kyle squinted against the sunlight as it peered over the horizon. They were driving very fast to somewhere, not that it mattered. He stuck his arm out the window and let the wind blow dry his hair. Closing his eyes, he listened to Nova's threat with a smile. The wind was hot on his arm and the sunlight felt like a soft, warm blanket wrapping around him. There he was, in a ridiculously loud muscle car, speeding down a dirt road, heading towards the sunset with a leggy...well...vampire sitting next to him.

Kyle turned his head and cracked open his eyes. The sun was glistening the silver highlights in her auburn hair. She handled the car beautifully, shifting with ease and noticeably enjoying the power. He crossed his arms and openly looked at her, a grin forming on his lips again.

He'd never admit it, not in a million years, but Kyle could not pick a single moment in his life when he could have been happier. Suddenly he was a little sad he'd never get to see the sunlight on her skin.
Nova
Nova chewed on her tongue thoughtfully for a moment, making random additions to the scenery as she drove on. She added some rock formations in the distance and sped past a family of armadillos, then, for kicks, made a convenience store complete with a wood carved native American out front, snorting at her own joke.

Then she realized that it had gone awful quiet in the car and looked over at her passenger, suspicious, only to see him looking back at her.

She said the first thing that came to mind, rather roughly.

‘What?’

Frowning, she added:

‘You’re not helping. We’re supposed to be finding your happy place.’ Just hearing herself say the idea out loud in a totally serious tone was enough to crack her. She broke into a grin, shaking her head.

‘Okay, maybe this was a ridiculous idea.’ She shrugged. ‘I thought it might help.’ She shot Kyle another grin, showing teeth this time, before turning her attention back to the road. ‘Got you out of that hotel room at least.’

Shrugging, she formed the landscape ahead of them into a long, clean coastline, looking over to see if perhaps the ocean might appeal to him.
Kyle Evans
Kyle turned away from Nova again. 'No, this is much better than the hotel. Even better than being awake, curled up into a sweaty ball.' He felt an errant hair touch his face and he reached up and touched his cheek. It was Nova's hair flying around the breezy car.

'Believe me, this is much better.' Kyle reached out and caught a bit of her flying hair and he tugged on it gently. 'So how much longer do I have to stay asleep? It's been at least three days, right? What's going on now? Speaking of which, how's your Simon doing?'

It was the first time he actually asked about the vampire he helped save. Maybe he was showing concern for him because it might mean a lot to Nova or maybe he was just thankful that this Simon helped him out of the burning inferno. It was probably because of Nova, but again he wasn't about to admit that. Another auburn colored wisp of hair flew by his face, unconsciously making him smile again.
Nova
Nova absently swatted in the air, not making contact with anything other than her hair, which really was getting everywhere. She figured that Kyle had pulled on a strand because it was annoying him and decided in her infinitely perverse logic to keep it down rather than finding something to tie it back with.

‘It shouldn’t be much longer now; you’re through the worst of it and I think the docs are mostly keeping you asleep to let your body recover from the strain. I’ll talk to them and see about getting you up but we’re going to want to keep you under observation.’

She turned for a moment when he asked about Simon, surprised. Sure, it was normal enough to want to know how the person whose life you saved was doing , but this was Evans after all. The guy who went into Marthinus’s hospital room and asked if he had any regrets.

‘Simon’s got a lot on his plate right now, but he’s doing better. There’s…a lot of political implications after what happened but I think we can all be thankful that he’s healed up at least.’
Kyle Evans
Vampires must have tremendous healing capabilities, Kyle wondered. He was still surprised to hear that Simon was alright. 'So, after being blown out of a burning inferno and being exposed to the sun...he's alright? I take a couple hits of vampire blood and I'm a raging addict?' He snorted unhappily. 'There needs to be a check and balance put in place because that's seriously not fair.'

He winced after he realized what he said. Nova probably was bristling over there in her halter top. Kyle added, 'Still, I'm glad he's alright.' Then changing the subject, 'So what's the deal now with me and your clan? Am I a free man or am I just walking around on borrowed time?'

The thought of what would happen to him had crossed his mind about a million times. Considering he lived his life worrying only about himself, he waited to ask but more out of the necessity to wait since it's hard to articulate one's self when going through intense withdrawl symptoms.

'What's going to happen to me?'
Nova
Nova snorted at Kyle’s objections.

‘Yeah, well, a lot of things are unfair I guess.’

Nodding her head at the addendum, she spoke quietly, under her breath.

‘Me too.’

She gave an absent shrug when he asked what would happen to him, trying to keep her smirk from showing.

‘Oh, we talked it all out and agreed that you’re gonna stay with me.’ She nodded. ‘Yep, I’m a chain you up in my basement and bring people by to see the angry yelling guy.’ She blinked. ‘Hey, that rhymes.’

She looked over and let her smirk show. ‘Well that was my idea anyway…other guys didn’t go in for it so once you’re better…you’re basically free to ‘walk unfettered in Nachton.’’

She shrugged. ‘Of course, I have a way of forgetting the rules when someone fucks with my family.’

She sighed as she turned back to the road. ‘Seriously though…we’re meant to be keeping our kind from messing with you. So you help us out and not jump into dangerous things head first, we help you out and keep the bad guys away.’

Looking up at the sun with a grin, she added: ‘Speaking of which, I should probably be looking into that whole ‘getting you better’ thing.’ She let go of the steering wheel, her foot still on the gas. ‘You wanna take the wheel?’
Simon Huntington
Simon helped Carol up and out of the sewar entrance and into the elevator located in the sub level basement of Duibne. As he turned to face the closing doors, Carol wrapped her arms around his left one. He unconsciously became nervous and the curious look she gave him snapped him out of it.

There was nothing to hide from now. No hidden eyes in the elevator watching their treachery. No rage from Ellis to fear. He gave her a small apologetic smile and leaned down to kiss her.

[Sorry, habit.]

Simon kissed her softly, lingering for a moment, tasting her lips. His smile broadened immediately as she kissed him back. The elevator door opened and he resisted the urge to press the close door button and have his way with her. Reaching out he caught the door before it closed and he ushered her out.

[I wonder how receptive Mr. Evans will be to our offer?]
Carol
She felt him noticeably tense when she touched him. Carol felt akward until he had relaxed. He said it was habit. She thought differently and had decided quite early into their secret relationship that fifteen hundred years of conditioning wasn't going to be broken anytime soon. She couldn't imagine how he felt now and didn't blame him for any of it.

When he kissed her, she melted. Carol felt his smile and she giggled as he had to reach out and keep the doors open. However long this happiness lasted, she'd enjoy it. Although she wondered if she could ever compete with over a millennium of experiences, good or bad.

She considered his question about Kyle.

[I'm not sure. I don't know how he's taking this whole thing, much less wanting to report about it.]

Just then her phone rang. Picking it up, she immediately recognized the voice. Holding the phone against her chest to muffle their voices. Out loud she said,
'It's Ginnie, I'll catch up.'

She gave him a wink and turned back to the elevator, heading down towards Ginnie's lab.

((OOC Carol out))
Simon Huntington
Simon stopped, watching her return to the elevator. As they closed, she gave him a small wave and he returned it by raising his hand. With a sigh, he turned back towards his destination and passed the nursing station near his room.

He stopped and asked a nurse behind the counter,
'How is Mr. Evans?'

The nurse, immediately recognizing Simon, nodded and eye her eyes cast down as she responded.
'Still sedated, sir. Nova is in there with him now.'

Simon found her reaction to him puzzling. The word had spread to all of the clan and its holdings by now that Ellis was gone and he had assumed leadership. They were treating him like they did Ellis, with stand offish respect. He wasn't comfortable with it. He looked at her name tag. Julia Moore, RN it said.

'Thank you, Ms. Moore.'

She looked at him startled that he had addressed her and he saw the fear in her eyes. Simon almost said out loud that he was not Ellis, but decided that he couldn't change everything in one day. Instead he gave her a polite nod and approached Evan's door. Pushing the door open gently, his eyes widened at the sight.

Nova was laying up against his bed but on the floor, Evans arm drapped off the bed and over her shoulder. Nova's one hand had still had a grip on his wrist, the other hand entwined with his. He stood, quite speechless at the sight. Funny thing, the way people respond to stress and death.

Simon walked over to a bit of furniture in the room and took a seat. Quietly waiting for Nova to wake up.
Kyle Evans
Kyle grinned at her comment.

‘Oh, we talked it all out and agreed that you’re gonna stay with me. Yep, I’m a chain you up in my basement and bring people by to see the angry yelling guy.

'Right,' he said. Still, he thought, having her as a mistress would be far better than having some hairy vampire guy with a pleather fetish.

‘Well that was my idea anyway…other guys didn’t go in for it so once you’re better…you’re basically free to ‘walk unfettered in Nachton. Of course, I have a way of forgetting the rules when someone fucks with my family.’

'Threat duly noted. Do you really think anyone would believe me? Anyone that wouldn't just outright kill me for actually telling the truth? I mean besides you, of course.'

Just then Nova asked if he wanted to drive and let go of the wheel. Reaching over frantically, he grabbed the steering wheel and then gave her a look.

'Yeah and I have the death wish.'

Nova
Nova shrugged at Kyle’s response.

‘You do what you feel is right, that seems to be what you do anyway.’

She snorted at his ‘death wish’ remark; like she’d never heard –that- before.

‘Naw, just like to keep it interesting.’

With that, she pushed herself up so she was sitting with most of her body sticking out the driver’s side window.

‘It’s a dream, Evans!,’ she shouted, before flipping over backward and closing her eyes.

A moment later she landed hard on the cold sand. The road, and, to her disappointment, the sun, were gone, but in the middle of the desert there was a door. She stood up, and headed out.

Once in the hallway again, she started for her own door, frowning when she saw that pale blue light was streaming out from underneath it.

‘Shit. I’m asleep.’

Sighing and hoping the return to her own mind would be enough of a jar to wake her up, she opened the door and walked inside what she had always assumed was a room of some sort, though it was usually too bright to tell for certain and it faded away into nothing before her eyes could adjust.

Nova hissed in a sharp intake of breath and turned her head, dimly aware that she was very uncomfortable in this position. She was, however, still mostly asleep and couldn’t trouble herself to move too terribly much. Instead, she opened her eyes into little slits, making an irritable noise as the light pierced into her head.

“hurble.”

She closed her eyes again and rested her head on the bed behind her. Mmm. Bed. Nice.

She realized where she was quite suddenly, and it was enough to make her eyes fly open

“mmphle.”

She blinked a few times, then rubbed at her eyes.

“Oh. Hi Simon. Just uh…doing…very important…research…”

Her yawn, however, completely gave her away.
Simon Huntington
Simon sat patiently waiting for Nova to wake. He rested his ankle on its opposite leg and picked at the sole of his shoe. After a few minutes, Nova started to snort softly awake. A small grin pulled at the corner of his mouth as he watched his child unfold from her position on the floor.

His grin turned smug at her statement. Softly, with his head still tilted down, he murmured, 'Is that what you kids are calling it these days?'

Simon straightened up out of the chair and walked over to Nova, extending a hand to help her up. 'And how is our new friend and please, don't omit the juicy parts.'

He found their coupling interesting. Simon had not figured Nova would be interested in someone like Evans, the self absorbed yet defiant type. He couldn't wait to see them interact. The fact that she felt comfortable enough to fall asleep, basically be vulnerable, around Evans made Simon wonder more about the future. Death had a funny way of changing one's perspective. Ironically, it seemed to give the clan hope and Simon needed all he could get right now.
Nova
Nova grunted as Simon helped her to her feet, though she couldn’t quite shrug off the comment.

“No, I wasn’t molesting Evans in his sleep. Or otherwise. No molesting, nothing going on here.”

Yep. Nothing whatsoever.

“Anyways. He seemed to be getting better for a bit, well enough to try starting him on the starburst to see if that would help in fact. I wandered off for like five minutes and he somehow managed to have a full blown seizure, though, so the docs put him on sedatives and he’s been sleeping ever since. We’re still working on figuring out the problem there, but I want to talk to the doctors about waking him up, if nothing else to see where he is.”

She shrugged lightly. “Fortunately whatever is going on didn’t fry his brain or anything. He’s a little moody about his situation,” she snorted, remembering his various yelling fits “but he keeps on trucking.”

She grinned over at Simon. “Asked about you, actually, just a bit ago.”
Simon Huntington
'No molesting, Nova? Losing our touch, are we?' He looked down again, smug grin firmly in place. Simon crossed an arm and rested his other elbow on top of it, fingers touching his lips.

'Did he?' Simon replied to Nova's statement about Evans inquiry. 'How considerate.' He walked over and stood next to the bed. Evans was in a deep sleep and his hand still hanging over the side of the bed where Nova had left it. Reaching down he moved Evan's arm back next to the sedated man.

Turning back to Nova, Simon placed his hands back into his pockets.
'So do you think he'll be receptive to our desire to protect him?' Nova knew what he meant.

Simon was asking if Evans could be trusted.

'It would be akward if he wasn't.'
Nova
Nova smirked and waved her hand, willing to take the teasing she probably had coming considering the way she had woken up.

“Well I usually like to buy ‘em dinner first.” She decided to leave out the fact that she –had- bought Evans dinner. It didn’t really count since he had gone downhill before he got to eat it.

She was pretty sure Simon wasn’t looking for the shrug she gave in response to his last question, and followed that up with her thoughts.

“I don’t know that it’s really a question of him wanting to cooperate. I think he’s willing enough to work with us, he’s just got this bullheaded side that has to plow into things and damn the consequences.” She looked down at her shoes for a minute before speaking again. “I don’t think he’ll stop writing articles; I think that’s a deal breaker. On the upside, I think he has good intentions and doesn’t want us to get hurt…but hell, I don’t think he wants to get hurt either and you see how that’s gone so far.”
Simon Huntington
As Simon considered the possibilities, his cell phone chirped in his jacket. Pulling it out, he read the text message from Carol. He ran his thumb over the lit screen and exhaled audibly.

Nodding towards Evans he said,
'When he wakes. Bring him by the Domicile. I'd like to have a chat with him.' He raised his cell phone to signal his leave and then tucked it back into his pocket. Simon turned towards the door and couldn't help but give her another small smile.

'Good luck with your patient, Nova.' He put his hand on the door knob and winked at her.

((OOC - Simon walking out pending Nova's response))
Nova
Nova nodded her head and looked over to Evans, who was still sleeping away.

“Yeah, sure thing. I’ll talk to the doctors, see if we can’t get him up and around.”

It was clear enough that Simon had other business to attend to, and she let him go with a wave before turning back to Kyle.

“Let’s see if you’re up for a field trip.”

With that, she walked out of the room in search of the doctor who had doped Kyle up in the first place.
Doctor
Dr. Lanier adjusted her lab coat and walked down the hallway, fluffing her blonde hair a little as she went. She was meant to be checking on what she had heard was a really hot patient, and was told to ask some guy named Nova if he was done testing so they could take him off the IV.

The doctor pressed her lips together and grinned before reaching the door, only to have it swing open and nearly hit her in the face. After taking a step back, she blinked at the sight of a shorter, red headed woman who had damn well better not be ‘the girlfriend’.

“Hi. I’m looking for a Nova…Pie…stew...a…?”
Nova
Nova crossed her arms over her chest and glared at what was obviously a first year resident as the tall blonde butchered her name.

“Piestewa. That’s me.”
Doctor
The doctor crinkled her nose delicately and didn’t bother to correct her mispronunciation.

“Oh. I thought you were a guy.”

She pressed her lips together in a tight line before continuing.

“I’m supposed to ask if your done with your testing? We want to take Kyle off the IV.”

She couldn’t help but notice Nova wasn’t allowing her any further into the room.
Nova
Bitch. I could kick her scrawny ass across the room.

Instead of committing an act of violence, though, Nova smiled sweetly in return.

“Wow, I guess medical school isn’t what it used to be. I’m sorry to hear that.”

She put her hands on her hips, taking up as much space as she could, before answering the next question.

“No I am –not- finished with my testing. However, there is no reason for –Mr. Evans- to be kept asleep on my account.”

She would have added something snarky about Evans having a much more agreeable personality while asleep, but she liked this stupid bitch a hell of a lot less than Kyle.

She stepped aside, though she didn’t give the skinny wench much room.

“Go ahead.”
Kyle Evans
Nova climbed up out of the window and let go. The moment she left the car, the reality changed back again, plummeting him onto his hands and knees. Kyle felt a cold chill run up his spine as he realized he was on the floor of the decrepid hotel room. His clothes were damp again, goosebumps rising on his arms and creeping up his neck.

'Well,' he said with chattery teeth, 'so much for the desert.' Slowly picking himself up off of the ground, Kyle walked back into the bathroom to undress again.

He wondered exactly how Nova entered his dream, having no idea that they could even do something like that. They were curious, blood thirsty creatures that seemed to want to be envied. He wasn't sure if what he felt when thinking about Nova was envy.

Or maybe he just liked her a little.
Doctor
Bitch. She knew what I meant.

Dr. Lanier made a slight huffing sound and stepped forward, doing everything she could with her body language to indicate she wanted Nova to step out of her way. Seeing that her methods were entirely ignored, she inched past the bitchy redhead and approached Kyle’s bed.

Mmm. He was a cutie.

“Okay Mr. Evans,” she said, shooting Nova a look “let’s wake you up.”

With that, she closed the tube and pressed a gauze pad down firmly at the IV site to pull out the catheter. Keeping pressure on the site, she taped down the pad and spoke over her shoulder.

“This wears off fairly quickly; a half an hour, perhaps less.”

She turned around fully so she could see the look on Nova’s face when she made her next comment, thinking to goad a reaction out of the woman by deliberately stepping on her toes, so to speak.

“You know, your guy is a real…hmm. Where’d she go?”

The door clicked closed. Nova had, it seemed, slipped out.
Nova
Double –fucking- bitch.

Nova crossed her arms over her chest and watched the doctor do her job, feeling what she suddenly recognized was an unusual amount of hostility. She decided to write it off as feeling a little crabby and tired; maybe her nap hadn’t been quite enough in spite of the fact that she actually felt pretty well rested.

In any case, she felt another spike of annoyance when the doctor started talking to Evans. Stupid bitch; surely someone of her training could see that HI, HE CAN’T HEAR YOU, DUMB COW.

She honest to god felt like kicking something, and when she saw the doctor’s hand lingering on Kyle’s wrist while she spoke, she decided she really couldn’t stomach anymore.

She walked out into the hallway, turning on her phone while she headed for the waiting room and trying to pinpoint what pissed her off so badly. She reasoned that mispronouncing her name was enough, but then again pretty much everyone did that. Then there was the ‘I thought you were a guy’ comment, which made Nova bristle.

Shrugging, she rather bitterly decided to order Evans a steak to go with his blonde.

She paused in the middle of dialing and hung up the phone as realization struck.

Then she went right back to dialing and ordered some food. At worst the nurses would get a free meal but the guy did need to eat after all.

And being jealous was just stupid.
Kyle Evans
Cotton balls.

Kyle's dream ended suddenly with him walking out of the warm bathroom, toweling himself off. One minute he's drying off, then next there was the feeling of cotton balls in his mouth. The feeling of a starched bed pressed up against him and he numbly reached up wipe his face.

'Mr. Evans?'

The voice was warbly and annoyingly muffled. Kyle struggled to open his eyes, but they felt like lead weights.

'Mr. Evans, wake up.'

Less muffled that time, but still warbly. It was quiet again for what felt like a few moments but when he heard the voice again, it was much clearer.

'It's time to wake up, Mr. Evans.'

He felt his hand connect with his mouth as he struggled to open his eyes again. It was bright, painfully so. The voice seemed attached to a woman who was standing next to the bed. Blinking, he tried to point to his mouth. God he was thirsty. His throat was parched and he scratched at it. Kyle tried to swallow but found he couldn't even work up any saliva. Water. He needed it badly.

So he found it odd that when he opened his mouth to ask for it, he said instead,
'Nova, I need Nova.'
Doctor
Dr. Lanier picked up the chart from the side table and noted Kyle’s vitals, lifting up the blanket to take his pulse and pressure. She frowned as she moved to put the blanket back, her fingers catching on something, and flipped the corner again to see what it was.

‘The hell?’

A small smiley face sticker was stuck to the fabric. With a little tug, she pulled it off and stuck it to her name tag, wondering where it came from. Then Kyle began to stir and she forgot the matter entirely, instead leaning forward and crinkling her forehead.

“Mr. Evans?”

He was, it seemed, waking up, and she called his name again before he could fall back into a natural sleep. She had to lean even closer to hear what he was saying, though she backed up once she realized, a somewhat phony grin plastered to her face.

“She just stepped out for a minute. I’m sure she’ll be back.”

That said, she pulled the stethoscope around her neck and leaned down again.

“Now if you’ll just take a deep breath…”
Nova
Nova paced the waiting room until the front desk paged her to let her know the food had arrived, and by the time she took the elevator ride, styrofoam box in hand, back up to the medical ward she was feeling considerably brighter. It was sort of funny, really. Getting all worked up over some stupid blonde. Well, not entirely stupid probably, she’d gone through med school after all, but still.

She gave the door a knock before coming inside Kyle’s room and craned her neck around the doctor to see if Kyle was awake. With a smile and a wink, she set the food down on the tray and then turned to give the doctor a piercing stare. She could have put the blonde in her place and just told her to leave, but she was feeling a little more magnanimous now that she’d cooled off and figured she should probably let her do her job.

“Hey sleepyhead. Good dreams?”
Kyle Evans
The woman was touching his chest with something extremely cold. Rubbing his eye, he ignored the woman as she did her business. With a sigh he closed his eyes again, waiting for the doctor to be done. Kyle tried to fall back asleep but the annoying cold bit of metal on his chest was preventing him from doing so. His mood soured.

His eyes half closed, Kyle looked up as the door swung open. He'd recognize that swagger anywhere.

"Hey sleepyhead. Good dreams?"Â?

He eyed the styrofoam box and realized he was starving. Kyle felt a smile warm his face as he shifted his position on the bed, turning his head to face Nova.

'You again? What poison did you bring me?' He was happy to see her, much to his confusion. And oddly enough, he was fairly certain she was happy to see him as well.
Doctor
Dr. Lanier finally finished her poking and prodding and made the appropriate notes on her chart, studiously ignoring Nova’s stare and shooting Kyle a simpering sort of look.

“You’re looking good.” She grinned a little, still ignoring Nova completely. “Pressure is still a little bit on the high side but that’s normal.”

With that, she picked up her things and gave Kyle a little wave, deciding that she could flirt with him when there wasn’t some wench hanging around.
Nova
Nova smirked a little and opened the Styrofoam box, revealing a New York strip steak and potatoes inside. She paused in the act of moving everything to a tray to roll her eyes in open disgust at the doctor’s behavior, but her scowl deepened when she noticed a smiley face sticker on the plastic nametag.

Bitch stole my sticker!

She continued to glare daggers until the doctor left, then turned back to Kyle with a falsely bright smile.

“Food time. We’re taking a field trip after this.”

She gave the tray a little nudge so Kyle could reach it and plopped down on the foot of the bed, wondering how the reporter would take the news. “Simon wants to see you.”
Kyle Evans
Kyle's stomach growled rather loudly as he reached for the food. He stopped midway when Nova dropped her bomb.

With a defeated sigh, Kyle picked up his fork and knife, poised over his steak.
'Is this where I get threatened never to speak a word of what's happened or I'll end up face down, drained of blood in a new gutter somewhere?' He gave her a rather lack luster smile. 'Just checking so I know to get my hair cut.'

Kyle cut a piece of the steak and happily chomped down on it. His eyes rolled into the back of his head from sheer delight. He quickly followed his mouthful of cow with some potato and he giggled happily.

'Keep the fancy meals coming, baby. I'll marry you yet.' He laughed and added, 'Oh and don't worry about that doctor, she's not my type,' then gave Nova a rather lecherous looking wink.
Nova
Nova smirked at Kyle’s question, rolling her shoulders in a shrug.

“Thought I already did that…”

Deciding that she could be a little more decent about the whole thing, she added in her thoughts. “Seriously though, I think he had something to run by you. He’s the one who said not to mess with you, after all, I don’t think he’s wanting to disembowel you or anything just yet.”

With that comforting sentiment, she grabbed the steak knife Kyle had just set down and speared a potato with it, pulling it off the utensil with her teeth before setting it back down and chewing with a thoughtful expression.

“Really, I don’t know what he has in mind. But he asked me to bring you by the domicile, which is kind of a big deal for a human.” She shrugged again, not really expecting Kyle to feel especially honored by the invite. “Don’t think you need a hair cut or anything, and I brought some clothes that should work.”

She snorted at Kyle’s apparent appreciation of the meal, finding it was too over the top to annoy her as much as it should have.

“Gah, the ‘m’ word, bite your tongue!” She tilted her head to one side. “Blonde and leggy ‘isn’t your type’? And here I was thinking ‘has a pulse’ would be the extent of your standards.” She followed this with a light kick, more a nudge than anything else. “Anyway, she’s clearly a bad evil person who’s thinking more about getting into your pants and stealing stickers than her professional duties. I’m just looking out for you is all.”
Kyle Evans
Kyle raised his eyebrow at Nova's response about threats and Simon. 'The Domicile? Do you realize just how ghetto chic that actually sounds?' He snorted and then tried to stab her hand with his fork as she took one of his potatoes.

Nova's intense dislike for terms connected with being in a relationship made him grin. Whoever it was that burned her, did it pretty deep. He gave her an appraising look.

'Nah,' he said. He speared a potato and offered it to her with a side look. 'She's not my type at all.' Kyle rubbed his nose with his other hand. 'I appreciate your type,' he was going to add the type that looks out for him, but he left it open, just to see what she'd say, if anything.

Plus there was a part of him that really wanted to know, but he'd deny it if asked!
Nova
Nova snorted at his assessment of the domicile, leaning back and giving him a cocky little grin.

“Okay Mr. Writer, what would –you- call it?”

She fixed him with a dubious look before leaning forward to pull the potato off Kyle’s fork with her teeth, deciding that tricking men into giving up their food was –not- the same thing as sappily feeding each other. There was still that element of getting away with something, so it was all good. She was, for that reason, just a little too close when Kyle almost absently stated his next thought.

Alright, if they were keeping score, that was a point for Kyle. That unfamiliar feeling of being just a little unnerved flickered through her. She wondered if he learned that vaguely disarming quality in journalism school.

She scooted back a little too quickly and tried to smirk it off.

“I don’t have a ‘type’. I am a type unto myself! A type of one!” She rolled her eyes, warming up to her own egotistic dramatics. “Which must mean you appreciate –me-. Not really surprising…I am wonderful.” She fluttered her eyes and looked up at the ceiling before breaking into a more genuine smile. “For real though. You like women who smack you around? Because, you know, I’m into that.”

She was, perhaps, trying a little too hard to make a joke out of the whole thing, when really he probably didn’t mean what he’d said the way it came out. Being put off balance had that effect on her and she rushed to lighten things up, all the while thinking that if he followed that up with some bullshit along the lines of ‘I wish I could meet a woman like you’ she was going to shove his fork up his nose.
Kyle Evans
'I stand corrected. You are definitely not a type...infectious lethal disease maybe but not a type.' He air quoted his statement with his fingers and finished off his steak. Pushing the tray away he rubbed his belly. Kyle had yet to feel anything remotely close to the symptoms he had from his previous withdrawl attacks. He was starting to feel quite good, which made him worry.

'So, what's the deal now that I seem to have passed having those crazy wacked out attacks? Or will I still have them, just not as frequently...oh and where are my clothes?'

Slowly he stepped off the bed, testing his feet. He stretched out, putting his arms above his head and heard satisfactory cracking from his spine. Shaking, more to try and make Nova laugh, he pulled his scrub shirt over his head.

'Gibberz me my clothes, my wench.' He tossed his shirt at her and gave her a wink as he played with the draw strings of his pants. Kyle enjoyed teasing Nova, her awkward reactions cracked him up. Helped that she had a nice pair of gams, too.
Nova
Nova tilted her head and pretended to look thoughtful at Kyle’s assessment.

“Well, the first two are dead on, though I guess it’s a stretch to take ‘infectious’ as a compliment.”

She did, however, take his next comment a little more seriously, and did her best to explain.

“You’re through the especially shitty part of it. Over the next few weeks you might experience symptoms to a lesser degree; your heart might start racing for no apparent reason, that kind of thing. That should fade away.”

She shrugged.

“At this point what we worry about most are the psychological effects. The cravings. You’re brain has learned a new way to feel really good and will want to try to feel that way again.”

In spite of the seriousness of what she was saying, she couldn’t help but laugh when Kyle sat up and demanded clothes while stripping off his clothes. She completely shamelessly checked out his bared chest, one eyebrow raised, before getting up and walking across the room to the duffel bag on the floor. This she gave a swift kick, sending it flying over to the bed.

“I’m pretty sure you’re well enough to stand, goofball.”

That said, she crossed her arms over her chest, making absolutely no effort to turn around or offer privacy. This was mostly because it didn’t occur to her, though if she bothered to reflect at all she might have concluded that she was hoping to call his bluff.

“Anyway. That’s the main thing the starbursts help with…which is kind of unfortunate in a way even though it’s good news for you. For us ‘unnaturals’ it was supposed to extend the life of the blood, and it does a little bit but not to the degree I was going for.”
Kyle Evans
Kyle chuckled. 'You're just taking that personally, aren't you?' He was referring to her use of the word 'unnatural'. Kyle took a moment to peek inside the bag and pulled out a casual looking blue button up. He carried the shirt in his hands as he slowly walked over to Nova, shaking his head.

'Dearest,' he started in a low voice, 'I meant that in the nicest way possible.' Kyle looked down at her and gave her a small grin as he closed the distance between them. He stopped about a foot from her, looking directly into her hazel eyes, his face inches from her's. Reaching out, Kyle tugged on the hem of her neon green shirt.

Nova's skin was a bronzy brown and he recalled how it glistened in the sun during the dream they shared together. He gave her shirt a slight tug again, this time pulling her closer about an inch. Tilting his head, he widened his smile and his lips parted and hovered over her's.

Kyle looked down at her lips and whispered softly,
'And I did mean infectious as a compliment.'
Nova
Nova trailed off in her scientific talk when Kyle stood and moved closer, his shirt in his hands, but she kept her arms crossed over her chest, her head tilted to one side. She managed a somewhat nervous laugh at his remark, tilting her head up a little.

“And how nice is it possible to mean that, exactly?”

She was beginning to wonder when he was going to stop walking; she was fighting against her instincts to step back, feeling that would mean losing ground, and it was getting harder to look nonchalant when Kyle was so close and looking…right…at her. Right in her face, right into her eyes with no sign of being unnerved, no quick motion backward or forward to break the moment or escalate it. There was challenge there, just below the surface, their constant give and take in the struggle for dominance brought to another level. It was the triple dog dare, the big money bet, and this wasn’t one she wanted to lose.

This was the point, this was the moment when someone either shoved the other away and gave a nervous laugh to break the tension or grabbed them, kissed them senseless so they wouldn’t have to think about what they were doing.

Surprisingly, that wasn’t what happened at all. Instead everything seemed to slow down. She was moving forward, tugged by her shirt, they were inches apart, eyes still open, lips almost touching, and even now Kyle was talking. That seemed to be a thing with the both of them, never knowing when it was time to shut up, and she found she liked it. She whispered back, her lower lip brushing against his in what could have been mistaken for an accident.

“Kyle Evans gave me a compliment? Isn’t this a red letter day.”

She wondered, for a moment, just how amoral it was to neck a guy going through rehab, and decided this would have to go on the list of very wrong things she’d done. ‘Taking advantage of recovering E addict’. Right between ‘petty shoplifting’ and ‘sleeping with engaged teacher.’

For a minute she felt like a huge dork for having a list, even if it was only a mental one, but she shook that thought off. Yeah, this was bad. And probably pretty stupid. And there was no way in hell she was backing down now.

She ran her tongue over Kyle’s upper lip, not quite letting their mouths touch.

“You think I won’t?”

She wrapped one hand around the back of Kyle’s neck and pulled him toward her, pushing their mouths together and slipping her tongue between his lips with absolutely no regard for niceties. Kyle had once asked her if she did anything softly, and she hadn’t been lying when she told him no; this was filthy, this was profane, and there was nothing soft about the way she wrapped her arm around his waist, pressed her hand flat against his bare back, crushed his chest almost painfully into hers.
Kyle Evans
Kyle wasn't sure what made him thought Nova would try to do this softly, but deep down, in the southern regions, he was very happy she didn't. He was, of course, in need of air.

Reaching out, Kyle put his hand on the wall behind Nova to steady himself and gasp for air.

'Wait...wait...I'm the boy,' he tried saying through their deep kiss. The situation was beyond comical and he started to chuckle as he pushed her back up against the wall and then reached down to pick her up. He straddled her legs around his hips as he held her up by getting a grip on the soft skin just below her ass.

Happy now with the repositioning, he pressed his hips and his now rigid hard on, into her crotch area. Kyle disengaged from their kiss again to rest his forehead against her's and he moaned softly at her warmth before he reclaimed her lips again.

So engrossed with Nova's sudden disposition, Kyle did not hear the door open.
Carol
Carol was happily swinging her arms forward, clapping and then swinging them back behind her. She was whistling as she walked down the hallway towards Kyle's room. Upon opening the door, her whistling stopped and her lips were shocked into an O position at what she saw.

Now, Carol's been around the block. Quite a few times. She prided herself in being quite the slut in college, but still maintained good grades. So it wasn't that she was surprised to see Kyle Evans kissing on someone, rather vigorously...in fact she was envious, he was a good looking male specimen. It was WHO he was kissing that blew her mind.

Carol blinked and watched Kyle Evans kiss the fuck out of Nova.

'NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!'
Nova
Nova smirked a little when Kyle pulled away, taking the opportunity while he was distracted to bend down and suck hard on the skin at the base of his throat before returning to his mouth. He was trying to say something or other, something about waiting. She didn’t want to wait, she didn’t want to slow down or hold still or behave. She wanted her hands everywhere at once, wanted the sensation of their bodies pressed together, wanted skin and pressure and heat and sweat, and she thought it was a damn good thing Kyle was apparently a step ahead of her as she felt her back hit the wall.

She chuckled a little at his declaration of gender, wondering how they had ended up laughing in the middle of all of this, but her snickers turned to a grunt of surprise when he lifted her off the ground. Her foot dug into his calf while she struggled for purchase, it probably wasn’t that comfortable, but between her hard grip on his shoulder and a little talent with climbing (though it had never occurred to her to climb up a person), not to mention Kyle’s surprising strength, they managed to get aligned…quite nicely…

Never one to sit back and take such treatment for long, or at least not without the proper restraints in place, she grinned and moved her hips against Kyle’s, growling a little at the contact, and whispered low in his ear. She was going to say something along the lines of
‘drop me and I’ll hurt you’, but, still amused by the ‘I’m the boy’ remark, what came out instead was a huskily spoken:

“And how.”

Then they were kissing again, fiercely, Kyle seeming to match her push for shove, and she wondered in the back of her mind how she didn’t see this, the way he would just stay in her face and never back down, she wondered how she never noticed with all her supposed perception. She pushed just a little harder against his lips, until her bottom teeth were digging sharply into the soft flesh inside her lower lip, and her fingers curled tightly around Kyle’s shoulders.

Perception could be an interesting ability, particularly in Nova’s hands; it didn’t seem to offer up much in the way of answers when it came to the weird assed way people behaved, but she had for quite some time now been able to tell when something was off. She privately called it her personal BS meter, and it very suddenly went through the roof at the sound of the door clicking open.

She pulled away from Kyle with an unnecessarily loud, wet noise and glared at the intrusion, her brain rushing to put time and place and voices and people back together. Then her expression changed to a smile…well, a Cheshire cat sort of grin, in any case…and she gave Carol a rather shameless:

“Hey. What’s up?”

She made no effort to disentangle herself, they were caught, good and proper, and all the time she was wondering who would come out the victor in the latest match between Kyle and Nova, Carol had quite deftly come in and stolen the prize from the both of them.
Kyle Evans
Nova noticed the door before Kyle did, much to his displeasure, but up until that point, he was very much feeling this vampire chick.

Kyle gripped the skin on the back of her thighs a little harder as she matched his forward thrust with her own. He could barely keep from whimpering when she whispered into his ear. Not exactly recalling the last time a woman enjoyed kissing him with this much gusto, Kyle pressed his entire body against Nova, pinning her to the wall. Their tongues assaulted each other, pushing, caressing and flicking together with an occasional sucking of the other's bottom lip for good measure. He distinctly remembered feeling like his legs were going to buckle when the tip of his tongue grazed one of her fangs.

The realization that Nova was a vampire made the throbbing of his hard on just that much more obscene. He was jerked back to reality when Nova disengaged from their kiss and turned towards the door.

Kyle almost dropped Nova as he followed her gaze towards Carol. The wee petite blondes exclamation made him snort out loud and Nova's nonchalantness made him want to press his mouth against her neck and laugh like a mad man.

'Carol,' Kyle said. 'Good to see you?' Clear throat. 'Nova was just...' Close eyes and blush. 'Assaulting me...she used her mind control, I swear.' Insert bat eyelashes here.
Carol
Carol snorted at Nova.

'Uh...hi?'

Upon seeing and hearing Kyle's response, Carol grinned.
'That's quite the lethal boner you got there, Kyle.'

Propping herself onto the edge of the bed, Carol swing her feet back and forth gently.

'I thought I'd come by and see how you were getting along with the staff here, Kyle. Obviously you are doing quite well. Oh, was I interrupting?'

Carol shook her head and laughed.
'You know, I'm fucking telling EVERYONE about this. OH MY GOD, I can't WAIT to tell Jan.' She took great pleasure in the large snort she released while chuckling.
Nova
Nova tightened her grip a little when she felt Kyle’s hold loosen, and decided it would probably be practical at this point to get her feet on the ground. That motion in and of itself involved some rather comfortable rubbing that she was somewhat reluctant to give up on. Still, while she wasn’t all that heavy and Kyle was a big guy, she wasn’t exactly little either and it might be something of a strain to support her weight.

In any case, her feet hit the floor, though she kept Evans close by. Sure, if she were in Carol’s shoes she would probably say something about the whole raging hard on business too, but her noble streak felt it would be nice to not step back.

Drawstring hospital pants being what they were, after all.

“Yeah, I have cool mind control powers and I use them to force men to pin me to walls.” She snorted at the likelihood of –that-. “Please. If I had mind control powers I’d…” She frowned for a moment as she realized that she had no idea what she would use mind control powers for. She didn’t really have much use for that sort of thing. Probably because there were so few people she had a use for in the first place. “…I’d do something –way- cooler than that…”

She considered a few flip remarks in response to Carol’s question, but her mention of Jan kind of took the snark out of her.

“God, who needs the press when we have Carol. Jan will probably throw a party or something.”

It would probably be a bit before she heard the end of it from her brother, and while she brushed off the comment easily enough, she was kind of worried. This had the potential to look –really- bad; it was just a kiss…well, a groping, grinding, full body contact sort of kiss, but still…Evans wasn’t exactly every vampire’s favorite guy.
Carol
'Please girl, what's cooler than being pressed up against the wall...and with that being said, HIGH FIVE ON THAT!' She covered her mouth and giggled. Crossing her legs she looked at Kyle and purred.

'Anyhoo, Kyle needs to make a phone call. His people are running around with their heads cut off thinking he somehow got the scoop of the century and was buried in the ruble. So he'll have to clear that up and say he was...I don't know, in a coma or something equally SO believable.'

Carol smiled prettily and clapped. 'Oh, so we're off to the Domicile now, right?' She hopped off the bed and poked around in Kyle's duffle bag. She pulled out a pair of khakis and held them out.

'Here. Oh wait,' she gave them a sly little smile. 'I'll just...leave them right here.' Carol laid the pants on the bed and patted them with a snort. 'Right then, y'all finish up your canoodling and I'll see you in the Domicile!'

Clapping Carol walked up to them and pinched both Kyle and Nova's cheeks. 'SO CUTE.' She pulled out her cell phone and started text messaging with her one hand. Opening the door, Carol walked out, leaving them with her final thought.

'TELLING EVERYONE!'

((ooc - big mouth is out =) ))
Kyle Evans
Kyle released Nova gently as she slid back down him. He looked up at the ceiling and closed his eyes. It took everything to repress the glorious shudder it caused. Damn her, he thought to himself. He looked at the pants Carol was handing out and he gave her a look. Seriously, she was enjoying this whole situation way too much.

Kyle looked back at Nova after Carol had exited, stage right. He gave her a smug smile.
'I told you, you like me. You really like me.' Placing his hands over Nova's shoulders on the wall, he couldn't help but smile at her.

'So, was it good for you?' He braced himself for her knee.
Nova
Nova leaned her head back against the wall, playing a merry litany of ‘lalala, this isn’t happening’ before Carol took her leave. Once she and Evans were alone she pulled away a little more and made an effort to come back to her senses.

Kyle, on the other hand, seemed quite content to keep acting like a total goof, and she smiled a little before she could stop herself. She did, however, manage to clamp down on the impulse to give a rather dopey ‘yeah’ to his accusations of liking him, instead rolling her eyes.

She leaned forward a little, brushing against him, and whispered in a low voice at his question.

“…you’d better get dressed.”

She didn’t say it unkindly, but there was a firmness there that hopefully made it clear that they weren’t talking about this now. With that, she fully extracted herself from her position against the wall and slipped out of the room, closing the door behind her and leaning against it.

What the hell had she gotten into?
