Crowd watching

Club Eternity · started by Alfarinn
Alfarinn
Alfarinn watched the masses of Club Eternity, leaning with his elbows resting upon the bar. It was crowded tonight and he expected there to be good sport to be had. In preparation for just such a thing he was wearing a tight black Versace long sleeved shirt and a pair of designer jeans that fit him like a second skin. His long pale hair was tied neatly at the back of his neck for the sake of convienence as well as a neat appearance. Alfarinn smiled slightly at a waitress carrying a tray full of drinks as she passed him on her way to some table and then turned his attention once more to the masses.
Meegan
"I can do this." Meegan told herself as the limo she'd hired pulled up outside the club. Last year she had decided that this was where she would spend her twenty-fifth brithday, so she had called and made the reservations.

With a deep breath she stepped out of the opened limo door. She nodded to her driver, then gave her name to the man at the door. He took a moment to look her up and down, appearently approving of the mid-thigh length black dress, with a neck-line that plunged in a narrow V, nearly to her belly button, and a back that swooped down and gathered at the small of her back, and the tasteful diamonds that shimmered at neck, ears, fingers and wrists.

"Enjoy your evening, madam."

"Thank you."

She took a moment to smooth the stray strands that had escaped from her long loose strawberry blonde curls, before walking through the door the man held open for her.

Once inside she stopped for a moment and looked around taking the place in as her eyes adjusted to the light.
Alfarinn
Alfarinn noticed the latest arrival. Well dressed... He approved. It was so hard to find anyone with a sense of style these days. It seemed there was either too much flesh showing or not enough. Not to mention the people who could not figure out what size they should wear and either ran around in something that fit them like a large sack or something they stole from the juniors rack and decided to try to squeeze themselves into.

His lips turned upward in a faint smile and he raised his glass to her in a small salute.
Meegan
Meegan returned the smile with a small incline of her head and a slight curl of her lips. As her eyes continued to scan the room she spotted a small empty table with two chairs and made her way to it. She sat with graceful ease, and crossed her left leg over her right.

A waitress stopped by her table and she ordered a glass of chablis.
Alfarinn
Alfarinn's eyes scanned back over the dancing crowd. He wondered if any of his clan would join him tonight. He could use the company. Growing bored with people watching, Alfarinn drained his glass and turned around to ask the bartender for another one.

" Another Gin and tonic" It was his drink of choice tonight. Not a good mead but those were hard to find these days.
Meegan
When her drink arrived she gave the waitress her credit card and told her to run a tab, then sipped lightly from the dry wine. Her eyes continued to roam the club, but they kept returning to the beautiful man at the bar who had smiled at her.
Alfarinn
Feeling another's attention on him, Alfarinn turned back around to identify the source. Ah, the young woman he greeted earlier. He'd not had anything to 'eat' yet so perhaps he should find non immortal company for the start of the evening.

Picking up his drink, he wandered slowly over to her table. Taking a sip, he watched her a moment before speaking.

"Could I interest you in some company or are you waiting on someone?"
Meegan
She tilts her head to look up at the source of the voice.

"Please, I would enjoy the company."
Alfarinn
Alfarinn hooked a leg around the chair and pulled it out before settling down into it. He leaned back and casually glanced around the place before turning his attention to the girl once more.

"What brings you to Club Eternity?"

Straightning just a bit, he set his drink on the table and extended his hand.

"My name is Arin, by the way. Arin Björn."
Meegan
She gently places her hand in his.

"Meegan Masters, and I'm here to celebrate my birthday."

She smiles warmly.
Alfarinn
He squeezed her hand slightly before leaning back and smiling at her.

"You're birthday? Well, that's quite the occasion. We should celebrate."

Alfarinn looked around and caught the attention of one of the waiters hurrying by.

"Could you be so kind as to bring us a bottle of your finest champagne?"
Waiter
Francois had no problems hearing the soft voice of the vampire calling for his attention. Stopping, he bowed deeply before Alfarinn, recognizing him the moment he walked into the club.

With his head dipped low in respect and not making eye contact, he nodded towards Alfarinn and his beautiful dinner date.
'Oui, Master Alfarinn, would there be anything else I can bring après-dîne?'
Alfarinn
Alfarinn looked up and smiled at François, always so prompt.

"Non, Merci, François. It is the Madamoiselle's birthday. aujourd'hui. "

He looked back at Meegan.

"Unless there is anything else that you would like?"
Meegan
Meegan smiled at the familiarity between the man and the waiter, her respect growing for Arin.

"Not just now, the champagne will be nice. Thank you."
Waiter
'Très bon, mademoiselle.' With a click of his heels, Francois walked off to the back for their order.
Alfarinn
Turning back to Meegan, He asked.

"So what birthday are we celebrating?"

Alfarinn took another large swallow of his gin and tonic and waited for her reply. She seemed rather polite and perhaps slightly nervous to be here. He wondered why.
Meegan
"The quarter-century one."

She sipped from her wine and smiled at Arin

"My aunt was appalled when I told her I was going to a night club to celebrate, and on my own no less."

She chuckles softly as the sound of her aunt's voice rumbles in her head.
Ellis Duban
Ellis took a final drag of her cigarette and dropped it on the street. She was standing outside Club Eternity wearing a red, form fitting blouse that hugged her curves and a black skirt that heartily did the same. Walking across the street she passes the line and nods to the guard who immediately moved out of her way and opened the door for her.

Upon entering she slipped off her jacket and tossed it to the coat check girl with a smile. She surveyed the main room. Her eyes landed on Alafrinn and immediately she smiled and approached him. Her path took her right by a waiter heading towards their table with a champagne bottle chilling happily in its bucket. Ellis reached out and grabbed the bottle and smiled at the two patrons.

'Well if it isn't my old pal, Alafrinn!'
Alfarinn
Alfarinn surpressed the urge to groan outwardly at the sight of Ellis Dubán. Looking up at her, he casually turned in her direction her and leaned back in the chair, resting one arm over its back. This could get interesting and with humans present, one sitting with him at the table no less! There was no telling just how civil the Tacharan was likely to be.

Noting the champagne bottle in her hand, He replied wryly.

"Good Evening, Ellis. Do make yourself at home."
Ellis Duban
Ellis purred, 'Even your civility is sexy.' Looking towards the human, Ellis chuckled. 'I hope I'm not interrupting, I just came to give beloved here a 'hello' and 'gosh its been a while'.' She held up the bottle and asked prettily, 'So who's drinking? I'll pour!' And winked at Alfarinn.
Alfarinn
Alfarinn eyed her warily but responded to the question. She was being far too accomodating.

"It is the Lady's birthday." He gestured to Meegan. "Won't you join us in a toast to her being a full quarter of a century old." He said the later part with a slight smile that only Ellis would appreciate the meaning of.
Meegan
Meegan looked up at the woman, and quickly covered a look that is usually reserved for stepping in dog poo or being unfortunate enough to witness someone vomiting. A careful smile formed her lips but did not reach her eyes, and she chose to hold her council.
Ellis Duban
Ellis' smile deepened as she watched the human's reaction. 'Well well, it's a birthday party.' The vampire started to twist off the foil on the bottle while throwing a wink to Alafrinn. 'Head's up, kiddos,' and with a pop, the cork went flying across the room.

Then with a loud voice, 'Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention please?' The crowd in the bar turned their heads, making their table the center of attention. 'Today we are celebrating a birthday! A twenty fifth birthday no less.' She winked at Alafrinn and there were murmurs of laughter. Pointing at the human, Ellis tipped her head and smiled, 'Let us wish this pretty little thing a wonderous birthday and a long...long...life.'

Ellis leaned forward and poured the champagne into the human's glass. With a soft voice Ellis purred, ''Bottom's up, sweetie and enjoy your evening.'
Meegan
A crimson flush begins below the neckline of her dress and works its way to her hair line as she suddenly finds herself the center of attention. The silver cross that dangles between her breasts feels like ice on her heated skin. Her eyes find Arin's again.

"Look...maybe I should just go."

She begins to gather her purse, her discomfort making her movements jerky and uncoordinated.
Ellis Duban
Ellis stopped the human and cooed, 'No no, I wont hear of it. I'll take my leave and you enjoy your evening with dear Alafrinn.'

She turned to Alfarinn, 'Darling, call me?' She kissed the pad of her index finger and blew him a kiss.

((ooc: Ellis will wait for a response but ultimately leaves ))
Alfarinn
Alfarinn smiled slightly at the woman's antics and looked at Meegan. Jumpy woman. Ellis was just having a bit of fun. Though the dark haired woman was something of a force all her own. Ellis seemed to fill a room with her personality at the very least.

"Oh, of course, we have so much to catch up on. " He drew out the word with a smirk.

"Meegan, there is no need for you to leave. Are we making you uncomfortable?" He was rather baffled by her haste. Certainly that would call more attention to her than Ellis's announcement.

((OOC: It is bed time for the vampire. Sun's up and all that ;) Early night for me tonight. ))
Meegan
Meegan quickly glanced around the room, noting that no other eyes except Arin's were on her. She replaced her purse back on the table and let out a sigh.

"No, it's fine. I'm fine. So why do people keep calling you Alfarinn? You told me your mane is Arin."

She smiled a shaky smile and drank deeply from the champagne letting the bubbles explode in her throat.
Alfarinn
Alfarinn smiled faintly and took another swallow of his drink, indicating her seat with his free hand.

"Do sit down. If Ellis and I have disturbed you then we should be the ones to leave, not you."

He paused a moment, giving his previous words weight by letting them stand alone before continuing with the rest of the conversation. The other clans might enjoy disrupting human lives but not Evenhet and not Alfarinn. This was her birthday of all days, it would not do to spoil her memories of this day with petty rivalries, though Ellis had been remarkably well behaved.

Not at all like the rumors he had heard of the Tacharan leader. Perhaps she was not as psychotic as the stories suggested? Alfarinn mused over that for a moment but decided pondering it further would have to wait.
In the meantime, Meegan had asked him a question and seemed about one wrong word shy of bolting straight out of the club. Yes, very jumpy.

"It is an old Norse name. I'm afraid." He rolled his eyes skyward and then continued. "My family thought it proper to name me after some long dead ancestor. I would have thought their true goal in life was to make sure I never got a date in high school." He grinned at that. He had once gotten himself into high school as one of those things he did to pass the time for a few years. It had explained a great deal about the youth of today.

"You can see why I go by Arin. It is a nickname from Alfarinn and certainly more common sounding. "
Meegan
The sweet bubbly wine had settled her and restored her confidence. She closed her eyes once, letting them clear. Her face once more composed into the small secret smile as she crossed her left leg over her right.

"Ah, much like the time I went by Anne."
Alfarinn
Alfarinn raised an eyebrow at her in amusement.

"And why might you have need of an alias? Are you on the run? Hiding out from the law, on the lamb. Should I be frightened?"

He leaned back in his chair as if he were worried she would jump up and attack him at any moment.
Meegan
Meegan's laugh is genuine and full throated. Once she regains her composure she winks at Arin.

"I could let you believe that."

She sips from her wine and continues to smile.

"When I was in high school, I had a need for a more American sounding name, and decided Anne worked best."
Alfarinn
"But you've decided this is no longer necessary?" Alfarinn sat upright in his chair once more and poured himself a glass of the champagne.

"We did not properly toast your birthday. I am afraid that was interrupted."

He lifted his drink to her.

"To Meegan...or Anne.. or any other aliases she might have's Twenty Fifth birthday. May it be a bright and glorious year for you full of new discoveries and opportunities."
Meegan
Meegan lifted her glass and clinked it to Arin's.

"To opportunity."

She smiled at Arin and drank from her glass.

((OOC: Sorry about the almost trite respose, I'm writing several things at once and my brian my just explode.))
Alfarinn
Alfarinn smiled at Meegan and then felt something vibrate at his side. Reaching down for his pager, He looked at the number on it and frowned. That was the clan code. This was something he had to take.

"I'm sorry, Meegan. I need to go see to this. It is urgent. Please, enjoy your celebration. Hopefully someone nice will come give you a birthday dance. "

Alfarinn stood and weaved his way through the crowd to find the waiter. He paid François for the drinks and added some extra to take care of anything else Meegan would like for the night. He then wound his way through the milling crowd towards the door.

((OOC: Alfarinn out. Not to worry. Had a something that needed to get done anyway. ))
Meegan
Meegan watched him leave and sighed softly. As she finished off her glass she caught the eye of the waiter, ordered several shots of tequila, knowing and not caring that she would later vomit and then wake with a headache.

They were brought, along with her credit card. She began to object, but the waiter shook his head and she let it go. She quickly downed the firey liquer, then wove her way onto the dance floor determined to enjoy both the high and herself.

((OOC:Meegan out ))
